Intentional community and international cooperative enterprise located in the Venezuelan Amazon dedicated to the cultivation and propagation of agroforestry (agroecology) crops, including medicinal plants for sustainable ecological enrichment and small scale production of artisan teas and indigenous medicinal preparations. Our purpose is to also promote the use of natural medicines for cleansing, fasting and preparing for spiritual journeys. The farm is staffed and operated by its residents. Those who are interested can join as cooperative worker residents, distance working members, friends, volunteers, employees or visit as tourists. The goal of our parent organization is to serve as a demonstration center for appropriate technology and sustainable development for local indigenous residents as a rural extension service offering agricultural programs (4H) and scouting. The cooperative society is headed by Col. David Wright, founder and executive director of Ecology Crossroads founded in 1994 in Berea, Kentucky. The founding of the independent member owned cooperative is based on an initial grant to make the 10% down payment from David Wright and his son Nicholas Wright on the behalf of Ecology Crossroads for $17,500. They property was acquired on a land contract involving 20 additional payments and was settled in December of 2016. In 2019 plans include the installation of a perimeter road, a lake, and a tree seedling nursery; among other ideas being initiated by residents. Currently the cooperative has 13 members, some invested and some making interest free payments. All cooperative ownership documentation and titles are developed in English and are administered under the jurisdiction of Globcal International (on LinkedIn) and the country of Belize as private international contracts (as of 2018 blockchain smart contracts).
